design and copyright by Daniel Libeskind
The IDEA door evolved from extensive research and a creative collaboration between Daniel Libeskind and TRE-Più. It offers a unique sensorial experience and adds something special to the space it’s placed within. The goal of the collaboration was to create a truly unique product with a high level of perceptual richness and technical capability. The way the door feels to the touch, what it looks like to the eye, what it sounds like to the ear, and what it does to the atmosphere of a place is of paramount importance.
The rich tactile sense of IDEA is reinforced by the exclusive patented profile in aluminum, which separates the door from the wall with an optical effect created by its distinctive shape. The door seems to float on the wall, and produces an interplay of shadows and light, with the additional possibility to conceal LEDs in the profile. During the design phase, Daniel Libeskind emphasized the importance of high level technical performance to characterize the product, from an aesthetic point of view but also in a tangible way, of particular importance was to limit the impact of the door on the environment and thanks to the research and know-how of TRE-Più, the door is essentially noiseless.
The materials used in production contribute not only to the look and sound of the door but also its unique feel. The wood used in production comes from certified sustainable forests and the leaf is built with innovative materials and a technology that sets IDEA apart. Wood finishes are characterized by the Scultura effect, the possibility of touching the wood surface and feeling the grain and research and realization techniques were applied to the finishing processes. Lacquers, made with the best paints on the market, can be either matt or in glossy polished polyester, with a mirror effect produced by the decades of experience that TRE-Più has in paint finishes. IDEA is an extraordinary and inimitable door, guaranteed by the design of Daniel Libeskind and by TRE-Più. Idea.
See. Hear. Touch. Feel.
